What to Expect When You Start Practicing E.F.T. Tapping

This self-help modality calms the mind and aids both the body and mind in the healing process. Through Tapping it is possible to experience an infinitely vast array of positive changes to one’s emotional and physical well-being. For example, in a single session it is not uncommon for someone to experience a rapid change in how they perceive current problems, thereby leading them to feel “unstuck” and able to tackle everyday issues and stressors. Conversely, people may also achieve shifts in how they perceive themselves—but changes of this nature will generally require far more time, Tapping and dedication to exploring the experiences and beliefs that contributed to their current self-concept. The common denominator between these two shifts is that the person who achieved them will experience less fear, trepidation and apprehension. ​

What to Expect During Your Tapping Sessions

We will spend the first part of our meeting zeroing in on one aspect* of a “Tappable” problem.  I will then teach you the basic protocol that is used for all issues (cognitive-emotional or physical) so that you are able to use this self-help tool on your own, right away.
This protocol entails:
 
● creation of a set-up phrase
●  creation of short reminder phrases based on the set-up phrase
● Tapping on the nine meridian points that make up the basic recipe

E.F.T. protocol requires that you Tap for one aspect of a troubling emotion, sensation or thought at a time. Once you have pinpointed a single aspect of an issue, Tapping can be very effective at neutralizing or eliminating the brain’s automatic response to it. However, it should be noted that after a person has identified, Tapped on and resolved one troublesome aspect or issue, a second one frequently arises that also needs to be Tapped on. This is not only commonplace but also helps explain why the problems that we deal with in our lives can often seem inextricable: Because what we think of as a single problem is—very often for the mind--multiple problems that co-exist at the same time.
During every Tapping session with me, you can also:

​● Expect to be listened to.
● Expect support and encouragement.
● Expect your feelings to be gently accepted without judgement.
● Expect to find new insights and perspectives.
● Expect to feel lighter and more relaxed.
● Expect to have an emotional first-aid tool you can use for the rest of your life.
● ​Expect to feel more accepting of yourself which will allow you to move more confidently through your daily life.

Intellectualizing vs. True Acceptance

Carl Rogers once said: “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” The type of acceptance he was surely referring to is what I call ‘true acceptance’. True acceptance happens when your mind, lets go of any and every pretense that a situation be different from what it actually is (or was), i.e. your mind perceives a situation in it proper dimension and without any additional baggage that the subconscious 
 
An integral part of getting relief from cognitive-emotional issues (which, often hold physical issues on place).

What to Expect After Tapping

When you practice E.F.T. Tapping, you may get much more than you bargained for!
 
Oftentimes, when an issue has been bothering you for a long time, you may be tempted to minimize its effects on your life, or possibly even partially forget that you have it. On the other hand, you may have been living with a troublesome issue for so long that you now just assume that it is something you will have to live with forever. In either case, when Tapping is successful, the results can lead to an astounding sense of relief and consequently, a sense of self-agency. Further, you will begin to see how you can use the self-help technique to deal with a vast array of life circumstances that, at present, you may not be aware are within your power to change. This new-found ability to deal with the things that life deals you can truly make you feel free and empowered, and will make you thankful that you discovered this life-changing practice.
